FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR

Alana Robins

It was only a matter of time before Alana launched a business helping horses. The daughter of a fourth generation farmer, Alana grew up on a 3,500 acre sheep and grain growing farm in the wheatbelt of Western Australia, surrounded by animals of all shapes and sizes and rescuing every injured and orphaned animal she could get her hands on.

Alana started riding as a child, mostly farm riding, mustering sheep and attending Pony Club and local agricultural shows. Her first pony was Wendamar Santos - a handsome grey Welsh Cob, who eventually retired on the farm after a lifetime of performing as a seasoned dressage schoolmaster.

Although having had a hiatus from horses for a long time while career and family took centre stage, the passion was thankfully rekindled via her daughter’s love of horses and riding.

Along with being a mum and running The Equine Apothecary, Alana has held community volunteer positions including sitting on the Board of Directors for a large local independent school and was the former President of the local Pony Club.

The Equine Apothecary is a culmination of the experience gained through years of working in business and with horses, her long standing interest in and passion for natural health and her knack for supporting horses in overcoming trauma, emotional issues and physical health issues.

Alana specialises in the holistic rehabilitation of horses and has had the pleasure of supporting many a horse over the years, ranging from Miniatures and Shetland ponies, Australian Riding ponies and Welshies, Stock & Quarter horses, a large number of OTTBS and many more. Alana's (significantly sized!) family of horses now includes Valentina (Welsh Cob-cross), Havana & Monte (Australian Stock Horses), Toffee (Brumby-cross), Ellie & Cookie (Quarter Horses), Sterling (Waler), Tango, Joey & Charley (Off the Track Thoroughbreds) and new addition Denny (Heritage Stock Horse).
