SCROLL DOWN TO BOOK A TIME

With an astounding array of qualifications and decades of experience under her belt, Angela can’t remember a time when she didn’t love horses - their power, noble good looks, strength and wisdom. As a child, growing up in the North of England, she was fascinated by the Romany gypsies who camped in the village each year, buying and selling horses. She witnessed many miracles as poor looking animals were purchased for peanuts, treated with herbal brews and salves and transformed into sleek, glossy, bright eyed horses which, when re-presented at the sales, turned a good profit - all in a matter of weeks.

With a background in showjumping in the UK, to working with horses in the film industry and later becoming one of Australia’s first female jockeys, Angela turned to natural therapies, graduating from the Dorothy Hall College of Herbal Medicine (Sydney) in 1987. Angela also holds qualifications in Craniosacral Therapy, Clinical Science of Mineral Therapy, Equine Muscle Release Therapy and Bowen Therapy, to name a few. Angela has continued learning, teaching and gaining experience and expertise, as well as pioneering and developing her unique Hair Assessment system, which gives clients information, answers and a treatment plan which cannot be gained through orthodox veterinary medicine. This can be used as a stand-alone treatment or as a supportive compliment when used with veterinary treatment.

Angela pioneered Equine Herbal Medicine, starting her business in 1988 and treated humans and horses until the year 2000, then passing on the human side of her business to focus solely on horses. "The Horse Herbalist" office and dispensary has been in Ballina, NSW, for over 30 years.

With a national and international client base, Angela has become a powerful catalyst in helping horses heal and move past their blocks and limitations to realise their full potential in performance and enjoyment of life. Angela creates customised, natural and powerful herbal tincture blends for horses and also has a small range of “go to” remedies for generalised conditions, available from The Equine Apothecary.

Angela is based near Wardell, NSW and offers telephone consultations.

Angela is a fellow of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS).
